This page is to show the unbelievable resilience that a horse has and the incredible work that Dr. Mike and everyone else at Giacopuzzi showed. Alana had surgery on her lower eyelid and to prevent it from spreading and putting her down in a month or further injuring her eye we opted to have it all removed. She recovered immediately. Nothing frightened her as long as we spoke to her and let her know we were there. We resumed normal behavior within the first week with just minor adjustments to approaching her left side. The adaptability of these animals is really amazing. Here's to a long life for Alana!
